I was born in Mexico City, and grew up in McAllen Texas, with Cuban and Basque roots. Food has been a fixation of mine, the best memories being Christmases with my family, enjoying either Cuban or Basque home cooking lovingly made by my grandmothers. My rich family heritage also inspired in me a true feeling of wanderlust, and I look forward to travelling at any moment that I can. I’ve been incredibly lucky to visit family in Barcelona, Bakio and San Sebastian in Spain, enjoy a true culinary adventure in Florence, Italy, travel to the magnificent beaches of Phuket, Thailand (Thai food is one of my favorites), and take a little jaunt with my husband to Moorea, French Polynesia. One of my mottos is “I will travel for food.”
I started The Hungry Chronicles (originally Hungry Girl Austin) out of my appreciation and fascination with food and travel. Thankfully there’s no shortage of wonderful restaurants in Austin, the new restaurant scene is endless! Of course, I jump at the opportunity to go on a trip any time it presents itself, whether it be a fun weekend getaway in the US or an impromptu trip to another country! I look forward to continuing to share my food adventures, travel escapades, and my effortless lifestyle journey with you via The Hungry Chronicles.
