Stunning ocean views from the multi-level pool

The Ritz-Carlton Reserve was grandfathered to be built at the former Laurance Rockefeller estate, allowing every guest-room to rest steps from sea. The beach is encircled by coral reefs that block the larger waves coming onto land, making it a beautiful and peaceful swimmable beach.  For those interested in checking out the sea-life that resides near the hotel, you can easily explore the coral reefs via snorkeling to spot Octopus, fish, crab, sea urchins, and other critters that live amongst the coral.

When To Visit Dorado Beach, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve

Being that Puerto Rico is located in the Caribbean and has a tropical climate, the best time to visit would be mid to late October through late February. If you’re looking to travel during low season to take advantage of lower rates, consider going during mid-April to June, right after the busy winter season and just before the rainy summer or hurricane season.

How To Get To Dorado Beach, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve

Dorado Beach Reserve is located 35 minutes from Luis Muñoz Marín Airport and 30 minutes from Isla Grande Airport.  As we work on your booking, I will be happy to help make arrangements for transportation in conjunction with Dorado Beach Reserve’s preferred chauffer partner.  The hotel also features a helipad that allows guests to arrive directly onto the property, just a 15 minute flight from the airport.

Once you’re at the resort, you may opt to get around via your own beach cruiser or via chauffered golf carts.

What To Do Dorado Beach, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve

-Ambassadors of the Environment: Dorado Beach Reserve has a fantastic program called Ambassadors of the Environment to inspire guests to connect with nature and is perfect for families, children, or individuals. Activities could include hikes, snorkeling (ask about the bioluminescent night time snorkeling), underwater photography, and so much more.

-golf: The resort has two fantastic Tournament Players Club golf courses that offer 18 holes each and use native sand, manmade rivers and contoured bunkers to challenge even the most seasoned golfer.

-explore Old san Juan: A visit to Old San Juan is a must, to be able to see the beautiful colorful streets and taste some of the food that makes Puerto Rico famous.  Let me help set you up on a historic foodie walking tour so you get to explore the town while tasting some of the best food, and learning about Puerto Rico’s history.

-SPA: a stay at Dorado Beach Reserve without a visit to Spa Botanico is like visiting Puerto Rico and not going to the beach. It by far is one of the most stunning spas that I’ve even seen (and I’ve been fortunate to experience many), and the signature treatment I got was possibly the best massage I’ve ever had (I never fall asleep during massages and I think I passed in and out of consciousness with this one in the best way possible). Nature plays an important role in the entire spa experience, and one of my favorite parts of the experience included sitting by an infinity pool overlooking the pineapple garden instead of waiting in a dark relaxation room before my treatment.

-Dining: the hotel has a total of 3 primary dining venues, perfect for all times of day. COA is where guests can enjoy breakfast and dinner. Ingredients at COA are sourced seasonally and from local farms and purveyors, and signature dishes carry the flavor of Mi Brasa, a traditional, Spanish wood-burning oven. Positivo Sand Bar is the perfect place to enjoy lunch with toes in the sand, with Asian-inspired and Latin fusion dishes that hit the spot in the middle of the day. The dinig venue is also open for dinner, with also has an intimate Omakase Bar that serves sushi, seafood, ceviche, tapas style bites, and cocktails. Then you also have Encanto Beach Club Bar and Grill where guests can enjoyMediterranean coastal cuisine, island-inspired cocktails and grilled meats and seafood poolside.
