Earlier this summer I had the chance to partner up with Sweet Leaf ® Tea on their super fun #Sweekend campaign as a brand ambassador. I remember trying Sweet Leaf Tea many years ago when I was in college and it was just a small Austin business. Little did I know that it would evolve into the super-successful brand that it is today, now owned by Nestle. Regardless of their success, they still continue to focus on quality teas with a recipe that the owner Clayton Christopher’s grandmother Mimi used to make. Their USDA Organic teas are free from artificial colors and flavors and made from simple ingredients, including:
- a blend of black and green organic tea leaves
- organic cane sugar – no high fructose corn syrup
I’m excited to be partnering up with @sweetleaftea and will be joining them while they host 12 #Sweekend event series this summer in Austin between June 30-Sept 17! The first happy hour is at Container Bar this Friday, June 30 – be sure to RSVP for the event (link in bio). I’ve been drinking Sweet Leaf Tea since they were a small Austin brand, and one of my go-to summer cocktails is a take on a mint julep—just mix the Sweet Leaf Tea Original or Mint & Honey Green Tea flavor with some whiskey, and you’re good to go for some easy sippin 🙂 #sponsored
The campaign centered around Sweet Leaf Tea’s #Sweekend sweepstakes was all about partnering with Sweet Leaf Tea’s favorite Austin restaurants, bars and food trucks to bring fun and flavor to Austinites’ weekend adventures. At all of their events, they asked people to post a photo of their sweet weekend in a public post on either Twitter or Instagram with the hashtags #Sweekend and #Sweepstakes. Each week, one winner was chosen at random to win a weekly prize – an Austin City Pools Punch Card with access to over 50 pools around Austin. At the end of the sweepstakes, they also awarded one grand prize “Ultimate #Sweekend” staycation in Austin, with $1000 spending money!
Current Sunday Funday situation: I’m at @sweetleaftea’s #Sweekend Sunday brunch at Gibson Street Bar/Luke’s Inside Out, they’re providing the Sweet Leaf Tea and some fixins so you can build your own cocktail to accompany your food! They’ll be here from 11:30 until 3:00, come by and check it out 😉 #ad . . . . .
Driving all over town running errands, good thing I have some @sweetleaftea to keep me cool as I get in and out of the car! They’re giving away free Sweet Leaf Tea next Saturday, July 22nd at The Picnic food truck park from noon until 8 pm, don’t forget to bring your favorite libation, they’ll have all the garnishes to make a refreshing cocktail! #Sweekend #ad
They hosted several happy hours and brunches, giving away free samples of Sweet Leaf Tea, and included garnishes for people to make their own mocktail or cocktail. I had the chance to host a super fun happy hour at Star Bar, and enjoyed tasting the cocktails that pair very well with the teas (vodkas and whiskeys make for some great mixers for example).
All in all the campaign was super fun, and I enjoyed tasting a variety of Sweet Leaf Tea’s delicious teas. For those of you who are trying to avoid sugar, they also have a zero calorie tea, their Lemon and Lime Unsweet Tea. If you check out their website, you’ll also get some fun ideas for other cocktails, as well as more info on the company, their extensive line of flavors and where you can purchase in Austin and beyond.
Happy Saturday! Packing up my lake essentials for the boat, what are some of your fave snacks and drinks to enjoy while on the lake? Join me tomorrow at @sweetleaftea’s #Sweekend Sunday brunch at Gibson Street Bar/Luke’s Inside Out, and try out some Sweet Leaf Tea and build your own cocktail to accompany your food! They’ll be there from 11:30 until 3:00. #ad
